Marjorie first fell in love with cold pressed juices during a Californian sojourn……..carried away with the L.A. sunshine, the good vibrations and the sounds of Crosby, Stills and Nash drifting across the airwaves, who wouldn’t be seduced by all that fruity goodness?
Here’s the gist on our juice:
Our juice is slow pressed every day from fresh fruit using slow masticating juicers. Ooo err. These machines churn at a leisurely 46-80 revs per minute meaning they generate less heat than your regular centrifugal juicer. And unlike your regular shop bought juice we obviously don’t put our lovely juices through any ultra heat treatment. The net result is our cold pressed juices retain the maximum levels of nutrients and enzymes.
Sugar in fruit juice
We figure that most people want to drink fruit juice because it is delicious, but also because it is good for you. But fruit juice can also contain a lot of natural sugars. We try and feature juices on our menu that have a higher veg to fruit ratio and are therefore lower in natural sugars, including our current fave – the Al Green (Cucumber, Apple, Broccoli, Kale, Celery, Lemon and Ginger).
